Good luck getting an electrician to come out to your place when you want too add an outlet, right? Fret no more! Build basic DIY electric skills and add power and light safely and easily. This one-session workshop will have you working safely with electricity in a snap, not a zap!
3 hour workshop - $99.
Two dates: June 26 or 28, 5:30 to 8:30.
Held in Redmond OR
The first thing you notice about James is the rocks, which he quickly will point out are not just rocks, but gemstones that he and his partner found. He's a highly trained handyman and mechanic who enjoys nothing more than sharing what he knows and building skills in others. A native of Culver, he enlisted in the Marines, where was trained in automotive, jet turbine and solid fuel rocket mechanics, earning many certifications along the way. He returned to Central Oregon looking to give back to his community, share his skills and hobbies, which beyond gemstones include astronomy, another course area he's teaching.
After this workshop, you'll understand the basics of electricity, particularly working with 110v. You'll learn how to test a hotwire, how to determine the load on a circuit, and how to know when you really do need to bring in an electrician. And you'll be able to do all the things we teach you safely.
After this workshop, you'll be able to change out an outlet, add a new outlet from an existing one, and take an outlet out and seal things off safely. You also be able to replace overhead lights. You can't legally do electric work that touches anything inside the box, but you can add capacity to the system where power exists.
$99 for a 3 hour workshop
