Take a Cut at Self-Reliance

In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn the basics of six essential power saws: The Chainsaw, Table saw, Compound miter saw, Jigsaw, Sawzall, and the Skill saw. With a focus on safety, technique, and practical applications, you’ll leave hankering to take on cool projects at home. Make room at the workbench!  This beginner-friendly session emphasizes skill-building in a supportive, fun environment.

Aaron Stump is the owner of Stump Regeneration, a land stewardship company rooted in sustainable forestry, earthworks, and regenerative design. With a background that includes two decades as a chef and deep training in permaculture, Aaron now teaches folks how to work with the land—including how to handle tools with care and confidence. He brings patience, humor, and a serious respect for safety to every saw he touches.

What is pre-registration

Pre-registration is free.  With some workshops, we schedule them once we get a minimum number of pre-registrations.  We the work out the date with the pre-registrants.  If you can't make the date, we cancel your registration.

How much does the workshop cost?

$125 for a 3 hour workshop.  Join School of Ranch and get 20% off all paid workshops.

Where are the workshops?

 This workshop will be held in the Bend/Tumalo area.

What do I need to bring?

Bring standard eye protection, and dress appropriate for working in a shop.

Can I attend with my kid?

No. We are working with power tools. There is a bit of danger. We need to keep everybody's attention and stay safe.

What is School of Ranch?

 School of Ranch is a Central Oregon based 501c3 nonprofit.  We hire skilled community members to teach practical and artisan skills.  Our mission is to educate, help grow the small businesses of our workshop leaders, and to create common ground for people regardless of politics, age, background or belief.
