Start with the right animals

Freezer Beef workshop in progress

Not all beef is created equal—and it starts with the breed. Learn how to choose the right species and genetics for your setup, your goals, and your freezer. We’ll also cover housing, feeding, and how to keep your animals happy, healthy, and gaining weight.

From pasture to plate

Trough

Understand what goes into raising an animal with an end goal in mind: feeding your family. You’ll learn how to map out nutrition and growth timelines that align with your feeding budget, processing schedule, and freezer space.

Processing day: what to expect

Processed and packaged meat

We’ll walk you through what happens at the end of the road, from choosing a processor to making key decisions about cuts and packaging. No surprises, no regrets—just good meat and solid planning.

Community Potluck!

Potluck table

Nothing says community like a potluck. Breaking bread while building bridges, so to speak. This workshop will include a potluck, a chance to talk about what you are learning, share experiences, and get to know one another. We’ll supply the main protein. Please bring something along to share with your neighbors!
