Where: VFW Hall, 491 SW Veterans Way, Redmond
Cost: Contribute what you want ($20 recommended)
Game night is not just about competition; it's a chance to connect with fellow horse lovers, learn in a fun environment, and share knowledge. Participants will form teams, fostering a collaborative spirit where everyone helps each other grow. This modified version of Jeopardy promises to be an enjoyable way to test and expand your equine knowledge, making learning an adventure.
Our hands-on demos and displays are crafted to offer practical insights into the essentials of horse care and ranch management. From the finesse of choosing the right tack to horse care and well-being, to the miracle of horses providing therapy, to health and nutrition, and even carpentry and electric work, each station is an opportunity to gain valuable skills.
No one does a pot luck like our equine community! Please bring something to share. We'll bring a big ol' pulled pork and rolls. Bring sides (beans, potato salad, cole slaw), another main (mac and cheese always a favorite), something for non meat eaters, salads, corn bread and other breads, chips, veggies, and of course deserts!
The evening also supports StirrUp Purpose, Penny and Jeff Campbell's remarkable new nonprofit. StirrUp Purpose is an equine assisted services organization providing therapeutic horsemanship, hippotherapy services and veteran/first responder back country horse camping retreats. Through a special fundraiser raffle, you'll help enrich the lives of others through the power of horses. Learn about StirrUp Purpose and its mission at StirrUp Purpose.

Kathleen Byers has spent over fifty years training horses and their riders. Kathleen is a lifelong learner, and credits her wide-ranging cross-disciplinary skills to her many mentors, including her parents at Wintercreek Farm, Suzy Balenseifen, and the Karazissis family, owners of Far West Farm, and the people at Old Salem. Kathleen developed a reputation for doing well with problem horses, and built that experience into a successful low key multi-disciplinary training barn in Millbrook, NY. Kathleen recently moved back to Oregon to care for her mother, and is excited to lead School of Ranch equine workshops among her other projects.
