Get in touch with nature and develop your wildlife tracking skills! In this workshop, you’ll learn how to identify the tracks of common animals in Central Oregon, as well as interpret the stories that wildlife leave behind. With hands-on field practice, you’ll explore the world of animal foot morphology and the other signs animals leave in their wake. This is an engaging, educational experience for nature lovers of all kinds!

There’s something fascinating about being able to read the hidden signs of wildlife. Learn to identify the tracks of animals native to Central Oregon, discover how to use animal foot morphology for identification, and practice the essential skills needed to interpret animal signs in the field.
Put your new knowledge to the test with field practice. You’ll apply your skills in the natural environment, working to identify and understand the evidence animals leave behind. You will leave this workshop with knowledge of all skills you need to find wildlife on your own!
Meet Tyler Doyle - a skilled naturalist and educator passionate about wildlife tracking and outdoor education. As a dedicated partner with Nighthawk Naturalist School, Tyler brings his extensive knowledge of animal behavior and ecology to this interactive workshop. Whether you’re a seasoned tracker or a curious beginner, Tyler’s expertise will guide you through the basics of wildlife tracking in Central Oregon.
Nighthawk strives to make education, wilderness skills, and nature connection accessible to the public through immersive, multi-age educational programming. Nighthawk seeks to provide a higher standard of nature education that provides holistic ecological literacy. They believe that learning and practicing hard wilderness skills with community provides an immersive experience that has the ability to inspire and transform people.

This workshop is outside and it is January. There might be snow on the ground. Dress appropriately!
We supply everything you need, but you wil need to bring your own food and water.
Children over 10 are welcome to attend when accompanied by a paying adult.
